We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of LVN / Staff Nurse I in the Medication Assisted Treatment Clinic and Residential Recovery Programs in Santa Cruz and Watsonville.

The Staff Nurse / LVN dispenses medication at the clinics and provides medical services to various Janus substance abuse treatment programs. Compassionate, energetic LVN with computer skills needed. Experience with chemical dependency a plus. A background check with drug screen is required.

Schedule: 32-36 hours a week. Salary: $25/ hour.

Treatment Technician

Treatment Technician I

Janus of Santa Cruz is seeking qualified applicants for multiple positions, full-time, part-time and night shift Treatment Technician I in the Perinatal Residential Treatment (PRT) and the Residential Treatment Programs in Santa Cruz. The Treatment Technician I provides support services and general client supervision to the Recovery Programs and is a member of the clinical team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a knowledge of the dynamics of chemical dependency, self-help recovery programs;
  • Basic organizational/office skills;
  • Demonstrated competence in interacting with a broad range of individuals in a professional manner;
  • Good conflict resolution and communication skills;
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work as part of a treatment team;
  • Experience working in a residential treatment program is preferred but not required;
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred but not required;
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and car.

Front Receptionist - Santa Cruz

Front Receptionist – Santa Cruz

Janus of Santa Cruz is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Front Receptionist at our Santa Cruz location. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, meeting and greeting clients, assisting with the intake process, taking payments, and additional office management responsibilities. Must have a commitment to providing cheerful and respectful customer service, demonstrate computer skills that include Excel, Word and Email, and dress professionally.

Schedule: Full Time – 30 to 35 hours per week.

 
GENERAL DUTIES:

•Excels in providing customer service skills for scheduled, walk ins, and phone call inquiries. Assists with the Intake process.
•Exhibits genuine concern for clients and always conducts oneself appropriately and professionally
•Ensures knowledge of staff whereabouts and maintains accurate and complete sign-in/sign-out procedures for on-site staff and clients
•Adept at using all features of the telephone system and voice mail.
•As directed, prepares and processes outgoing mail to include: accurate weighing; coding; sorting; affixing postage; properly addressing; and preparing certified/overnight/return receipt mail. Delivers mail to post office/post box on time.
•As needed, assists with clerical tasks to include typing, filing, proofreading, and maintenance of service logs and data entry.
•As needed, informs supervisor in advance as to supply needs and if office/kitchen appliances are not functioning properly.
•Ensures that office equipment (i.e. copy machines, telephones, etc.) is maintained and operated properly by all staff.
•Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of community resources; provides information, referrals and follow-up.
•Ensures coffee station is maintained throughout the day.
•Ensures kitchen/kitchen appliances and bathrooms are kept neat, clean and stocked with appropriate supplies.
•Ensures knowledge of staff whereabouts and maintains accurate and complete sign-in/sign-out procedures for on-site staff and clients.
•Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed of activities, results of efforts and problems identified/potential problems; recommends corrective actions to immediate supervisor.
•Maintains systems for the safe and accurate collection of fees.
•Opens and legibly and appropriately stamps, as applicable, delivered mail and sorts into appropriate folders for distribution.
•Performs routine office tasks necessary for the operation and presentation of a professional office as observed by the supervisor.
•Promptly, accurately, professionally and courteously assesses 100% of received calls/inquiries and directs and/or records and relays messages.
•Respects and protects the Human Rights of clients coming to Janus.
•Respects confidentiality in discussing client/client, staff, volunteers and organizational matters.
•Signs for deliveries when necessary and notifies recipients.
•When on duty, ensures the reception station is staffed 100% of the time.
•Assists in other duties as needed and directed.

Counselor – Santa Cruz Clinic

Counselor – Santa Cruz Clinic

Janus of Santa Cruz is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Counselor. Counselors see patients for individual and group sessions Monday through Friday. The Clinic opens at 5:30 a.m and closes at 2:00 p.m. during the week. Weekend hours are 6:00 a.m. to Noon. Janus Community Clinic, 1000 Emeline Ave., Santa Cruz, CA.

Qualifications:

  • Counselors must be certified or have active intern status. Janus does provide supervision for MFT and CSW interns
  • Experience in medication assisted therapy a plus.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the pharmacology and physiologic effects of methadone.
  • Working knowledge of applicable portions of Title 9, CARF requirements, and Title 22.

Counselor – Residential Program

Counselor – Residential Program

Full Time with benefits which includes medical, dental, vision and life coverage and generous vacation and holiday package

Position Summary:

Perform comprehensive bio/psych/social (BPS) assessment and develop and conduct individualized treatment plans. Counsel individuals with substance dependency in group, individual and educational sessions. Coordinate with community agencies and other professionals as required for case management.

Essential Duties:
•Develop, implement and periodically review the clients’ Individual Treatment Plan.
•Perform assessment, clinical evaluation and comprehensive BPS assessment and develop and conduct individualized treatment plans.
•Participate in facilitating ancillary services, i.e. family support groups, family education groups, continuing care and networking with community agencies.
•Maintain individual client treatment files in accordance with agency policies and procedures and other regulations.
•Learn and implement Electronic Medical Software (AVATAR) to perform essential job functions which includes but is not limited to thoroughly documenting and entering client related information and documents into the AVATAR system in a timely manner.
•Provide general client supervision including planning and scheduling therapeutic activities.
•Prepare client progress reports, when necessary.
•Regularly request and monitors client drug tests.
•Interact with the Criminal Justice System and/or referral sources, when necessary.
•Initiate/develop a discharge plan.
•Alert Program Manager to potential crises or urgent situations and/or incidents.
•Meet with Clinical Supervisor for clinical supervision. Brings issues of concern and/or importance to Program Manager for consultation.
•Maintain a professional work environment with attention to client and staff health and safety, by maintaining safety protocols, alerting management to unsafe conditions, etc.
•Read and follow procedures as detailed in Janus’ policy manuals and program policies and procedures.
•Attend all required trainings and administrative meetings.
•Maintain professional licenses/certificates.
•Driving is required in order to attend required trainings, meetings or to fulfill other responsibilities defined in this role.

Qualifications:

•Certification in drug and alcohol counseling or registration in a State of California approved certifying organization is required.
•Minimum two (2) years experience providing direct substance abuse counseling services in an intensive setting under supervision.
